th-400,700r-4, or 4l60-ewhich is best

I currently have a 700r-4 that needs rebuilding. But before I rebuild that one, jsut wanted to know which one of the three transmissions would be best in performance and how well will it fit. We are talking about a th-400, or a 700r-4, and the 4l60-e. could use the advice

th400 will sap away more power. 4L60E is an electronic controlled trans, and will need something along those lines to make it work. 700R4 bolts right in and works like a charm, its already there. Of those choices a 700 seems the best, just dont skimp on it, get a good one.

Yeah looking at this myself...
Just blew my 700R4...ended up having it rebuilt with good parts...
The th400 has no overdrive/sucks up more power but is strong..the 4L60E is just an electronic version of the 700R4..so they have the same pontential...
The 700r4/4l60e from what I've read can be made to support decent hp numbers...650crank hp or so...I'm sure people have gotten them to handle more but at how well they hold up I don't know..
Unless your doing a very high hp application the 700R4 will hold up...just put a good shift kit(trans-go)..and use good cluthes/bands /servo...
