well I will give this a shot and see what you guys think. I had major major help with this so don't think I could have done this on my own. and how! i just killed my 2nd 9 bolt posi carrier and thought i was going to have to finally buy the parts to put my 10 bolt back togather( broke some teeth off the pinnon and ring, and shattered 2 spider gears). this is a blessing. this is truly a day top rejoice! halaluya!

i have a posi unit from a 87 roc with 3.27 gears. gonna swap that into my 2.77 rear in spring

i am not doing it. dont wanna mess with it.

i would like to make sure everything is ok and it wont break later on for some reason. I not sure of what condition its in either. but looks pretty solid.

this article helps me understand whats inside of it and how it all works. i just got to get an installation kit with new bearings and i should be set. i will run it and see how it works. Reider Racing was the install kit but no price. i got to call them up sometime soon.

any idea how much new install kit would cost? something like 80-120 bucks or so?

much thanks guys. no rear end shop around here really wants to touch a 9 bolt due to not having much experience in them. those helped a lot. now just off to find some 4.10 gears for this thing.

I really don't understand why...unless they assumed they were rebuilding the posi, the gear setup is just like any other rearend so why be scared of it?
