v6 vs. v8 rear ends 10 bolt

Hey guys...what is different, what is interchangable, and what is the real difference between a v6 and a v8 rear end housing for a third gen f-body. I had some spare gears from 10 bolts, and was gonna try to make a "junker" 10 bolt for my f-body. If it breaks, who cares.

Anyone have any clue what spline some S10 carriers are? I was thinking if S10 carriers are 26 spline, can run one of those, welded, and a set of truck 10 bolt 3.73 or 4.10 gears, could get it all built for nothing....and use it in my car. I have a healty 9 bolt, but am looking for a cheap way to try a different gear ratio....like I said, longevity would not be important....

There's no difference in the 10 bolt rear between a V6 and a V8, apart from some of the ratios that were available maybe.
