can any one tell me how I can get the lock up switch to work on my 88 Z28 ECM is Gone Ripped it out LOL and re-wired hole car. But lock up switch has three wires on it and I don't know what is what. Next I want to run lock up off a toggle switch for highway use only. Thanks Bill :lala:

Check out this website. They have TCC lock up switches off your brake or off toggle switch.

i used that switch. very simple to install.

12 volts thru the brake pedal swith to terminal a at the trans case connector.if the car had a 700r4 the brake pedal will interrupt the 12 volts when the brake is depressed .this is normal.terminal a in the trans to the positive side red wire of the tcc solenoid.use a normally closed or grounded oil pressure switch that opens or ungrounds at above 150 psi and ground its terminal to the negative or black tcc wire.install it in the fourth cluch port on the valve body.this will allow lockup in 4th below half throttle.any more qs give us a call.

I have a 700r4 on an 82 TA, i've found the brake wire at the brake switch that will cut power when the brake is pressed. I've tried wireing that into a switch, and the switch to A at the trans case connector, and jacked my car up, and it didn't seam to be locking up the torque converter.

shouldn't that lock up the torque converter when a switch is pressed and the brakes are not? there is a wire comming out of


this switch was working fine (installed by my father in law) though it was wired diffrently (plugging into wire harness and going to ground for some reason) but the switch isn't working now.

any sugguestions? pic attached of the most recient attempt to wire.

GOT IT!

the black cable comming off of the plug at the tranny is a ground! it wasn't grounding correctly. the power I left (as that was right on) and the ground I ran to a switch. with the switch off, no lock up ever, with it on, lock up in second and up. I also hooked up my switch to the brake switch so it Glows when lockup is engagued, and turns off when you press on the brakes or turn the switch off
