Hey i was wondering if there were any aftermarket companies that made a slave cyl for a t-5. I did some searching and i found that there is a company called Brake Best, that makes a slave cylinder that has an aluminum main body. Well i also saw that it is distrubted through o-rilleys stores. We dont have thsoe around here. Just Autozone(which doesnt stock them), VIP (which i bought one from and it broke while i was bleeding it) and Napa (which has nothing). Is there any other aftermarket possibly performance companies that would make or sell them? I would prefer not to put a stock one back in if i could avoid it. thanx.
get one for a LT1 T56..93 to 97 will work....its an aluminum body with a steel braided line...the line is also longer

well i couldnt find an Aftermarket one in the time i had. So i got a replacement from NAPA. Man this thing is like night and day. I think my old slave must have had a leak to it, cause my clutch pedal is twice as firm as it used to be. Anyone whos running a slave with decently high miles i reccomend gettin a new one. You will definately notice a difference.
I have another queston allitle off subject, I want to swap to A T-56, but I would like to keep my T-5 master cylender(too hard to take out again, and I heard the pushrod end that attaches to the pedels is diffrent), is it possable to just take the roll pin out that holds the line to the master cylender and switch out the line and slave cylender, I also, heard there's no bleeder screw on it like the T-5's slave cylender has, how do you bleed it?

I have one from Autozone. It is made by a company called Brakeware and it is machined aluminum with a bleeder screw. Pretty sure the part comes with a lifetime warranty. So far mine has seen almost two years of hard 6000+ rpm shifts with a centerforce clutch at the dragstrip and no problems. I think it is a great piece. I wrote a thread about this last year with the part number.

thats really weird that a lot of people are saying they are gettin them from autozone cause i went to mine and they said they dont even carry the slave cylinder. hmmm....
The LT1 one is the entire slave, master, and resevior. Wholesale at GM plus tax is around 135. It is pre-bleed too, incase you are working byself as I did a week ago.

Yes the braided '93 up uses the same hose ends but be warned there is a restriction in the line that needs to be drilled out. You see it refered to as the "drill mod".
I did this Saturday - a 1/16" drill bit would not pass through this restriction, so I drilled it out to 7/64". Click the link that shows the "discarded line cut off" here: http://www.montecarloss.com/ls1montecarloss/August.html
To quote John Bzdel: "clutch hydraulic line to the slave cylinder has a restrictive orifice which limits fluid travel down to ~1/16" and can cause issues with apparent grinding of 2nd & 3rd gears at high RPM since the clutch may not fully dis-engage or engage fast enough during shifts."
i looked up the slave on autozones website (40.99 BTW) and saw they offer a master too, does anybody know if it is an aluminum piece too? does anybody know if the braided line itself is available from gm?

Thats only for the LS1 T-56. LT1 T-56 does not have the same restriction in the line.
*Edited for misinformation*
Howe Racing Enterprises at www.howeracing.com has a hydrualic throwout bearing for the T-5.

The LT1 Master/braided line/slave is GM 12559912. My GM 12559912 had a restriction that would not allow a 1/16" drill bit through. I drilled this out to 7/64".

Would something like that LT1/T56 slave setup with with a T10? How does it mount to the bellhousing? I'm trying to figure out how to use a hyd linkage for my '82 T10 setup w/o getting an aftermarket bellhousing.

Been there, done that, got boxes of unused parts from experimenting.
The length of travel needed on the old manual linkage fork & bell is greater than the travel of the T5 slave cylinder & master combination. I ended up going with a Mcleod master cylinder in hopes of overdriving the slave since it has a larger bore than stock, no dice. I now waiting on a custom made hydraulic TO bearing from Mcleod, not cheap.
