posi slipping?

How do i tell if my posi is slipping? When i shift from first to second, or give it like 2/3'ds throttle right off the line it feels like the rear right tire is doing something funny, not sure exactly what though. However I can do a brake stand and both tires leave marks, and when its floored and does the 1-2 shift both rear tires break loose so i dunno. I guess i'm asking is what i'm describing normal? This is my first posi, just got her out a couple weeks ago. Its a BW 9 bolt if that makes a difference.

check out the posi.

if it is a 9bolt like you said then do a search for the repair info. look for user name "88 350 tpi formula" and posi there are some real good pictures and it should give you a good idea how it works

bassically you could have worn cones and have very excessive back lash in the pinion gears
