Regular T5 gets gear oil, World Class gets ATF. Do a search for specifics. It's on here. That's where I got the info before filling up mine.

More fun. I say that because not even GM knew what to put where. The shop manuel for my 85 IROC (non-WC, of course) says ATF.

JamesC is right, its ATF aka Dextron. I work in the field and I have Alldata. GM specifies Dextron. You can use gear oil if you desire. It won't damage your trans, that I know of. I have tried Gear Oil in the trans, its ok in the summer. The syncronizers stick in the winter with Gear Oil, well at least until its warm. My advice, if you want something better that stock, use synthetic ATF(Mobil 1)or use BG Syncro Shift.

Hmm, I did not know you could use ATF in the NON WC. I think I would use a synthetic ATF having that knowlege. I am pretty sure though that you cannot use gear oil in the WC T5 due to the thickness of it and the redesign of the synchronizers and other parts in the WC model.
