I have a TH350, and it is making a noise. When the engine is cold, it does not make a noise. When the engine is warm, and I put it in drive or reverse, it makes a supercharger like whine, up until about 2000 rpm, then it stops. Before you say it is the pump, I will tell you that I just put in a 4200 stall converter and before that, it didn't make a noise. Also, in the process, I half kinked a trans cooler line. Is this noise related to the trans cooler line, or did I mess up the pump putting in the new converter? Or possably something else? I have driven the car this way for some time and there are no shavings or anything in the trans.

I read this on a website on converter intallation instructions...
"The 2nd most common complaint on converters is a whine after installation. This usually means there's too much clearance between converter pads and flex plate.(Washers needed between flexplate and converter) This draws the converter hub too far out of the pump drive gear causing the gear to rock.
