Just wondering what the heck the diff is between a normal old th350 and the th350c. Maybe mines a "C"... It could explain a few things.

th350"c" is the lock-up version of the th350.

cool, and let me guess the valve body is a c hair (no pun intended) different from the th350?

Is so that would explain the fun i had while installing the shift kit.

How would i be able to figure out which one i have?

actually the only difference between the lock-up and non lock-up valve bodies is the switch. the big difference is the seperator plate and the aux. type valve body that the lock-up unit has. if your tranny has an electrical connector in the case, it is a lock-up type("c"). if no electrical connector, it is regular. it would explain a problem with a shift kit considering most shift kits i have seen for th350's do a lot of work in the area of the cover plate(non lock-up) and aux. valve body(lock-up).

Ok well i must have a "C" with a non functional lockup.

So how would i go about rigging this thing up so it will work?

Would it be possible for the goofs that had my car before to put in a non lockup TC?

Their was some electrical crap in there when i had it apart, i believe their was some sort of pressure switch or something on the passenger side just above the valvebody.

By "AUX" valvebody would that be that other little valvebody looking thing that mounts up by where the shift shaft goes into the trans? That gae me a bit of a pain in the **** while doing the kit too...

But im glad i managed to do my own special mods to the thing to get the shift kit in there and it works great!

b&m and some other companies make kits that let you manually control the lock-up. other than that i unfortunately don't know much about the acyual wiring of the switch. the switch screws straight into the valve body.

it wouldn't be possible for the goofs that had your car before to put a non-lock-up converter in the lock-up one because the lock-up has a pilot on the front of the input shaft and the non lock-up does not.

yes, by "uax" valve body i am referring to the small valve body looking thing and yes it can be a pain.

i wish i could help you more on hooking up the lock-up but i have only built one lock-up 350. it was stock when i started. other than that i know the parts cuz that is what i do all day...lol. the other trannys that i have built were either non lock-up or 700r4's.
