700R4 to Th350 Which torque arm option????

Im am building a th350 to go into my camaro. It is a long tailshaft, so the driveshaft and crossmember should be fine.

My question is which option should I choose for the torque arm mount?

#1 B&M bracket

#2 Jegster bracket with Torque arm

Or #3 Spohn torque arm and crossmember

I would like to pic #3, but it is really out of my budget.
What do you guys suggest? Any drawback to the other options?

And I have already searched about the 700r4 to th350 tailshaft swap, but I dont want to go that route.

thanks for any advice or experinces you have had with these pieces.

What about and #4 Lakewood track action bars

I have seen these and there are a few post about them. If they were welded to the rear end housing, could the torque arm be removed. Probably not a good idea, but I thought I would throw that option out there.

Hurst also makes a kit. I've used it and I was not happy. If you do a search you will find more info.

I will probably end up going with the B&M kit. I can always change the Torque arm later. I just want to get the trans in and get everything working good.

I guess I could weld some braces on the original torque arm. I am running the stock 16 year old bushing. Id say its time for a new one. Might be were some of my wheel hop is comming from. Not to mention factory springs and shocks. lol.

I'm happy with my B&M kit except it was nearly impossible for me to find the proper clamshell for the TA mount that the kit requires (GM no longer makes the part...) I had to buy the similar one (its in the instructions) and then had to take the bushing off my old one and cut it on the back/bottom to fit.

Thanks for the info. I will check which mount I have when I get ready to do the swap.

my torque arm bushing and clamshell bolted right up from a 1985 torque arm mount. I know there was 3 different styles of torque arm mounting brackets, must have been fun locating the right one.

Dana from Probuilt is going to hook me up with one of his transgo kits. Im going with the Red eagle alto clutches, kevlar band, and kolene steels. Its rated for 550hp or better.

Right now if just have too much space between 1st and 2nd with the 700r4. Im also having 2-3 shift flare up at wot. The trans works fine with regular driving. It will also shave a little weight off and be cheaper to build. Besides, not to many th400's floating around in my area.

Thanks for the advice.

the B&M TQ arm mount brackets kit for the th350

was 80 bucks brand new from summit when i bought

works 100% great! no problem whatsoever

only need one of the brackets they send in the kit- for the 200C to th350 swap anyways-

but the swap from 700r4 needs both the B&M brackets,

i have this th350 deal in my 82 trans am,
it was a thm200 originally

works awesome

very good deal
