I have seen these and there are a few post about them. If they were welded to the rear end housing, could the torque arm be removed. Probably not a good idea, but I thought I would throw that option out there.
i used the B&M kit and that's the way to go honestly. much better than the hurst kit

I will probably end up going with the B&M kit. I can always change the Torque arm later. I just want to get the trans in and get everything working good.
I guess I could weld some braces on the original torque arm. I am running the stock 16 year old bushing. Id say its time for a new one. Might be were some of my wheel hop is comming from. Not to mention factory springs and shocks. lol.
I'm happy with my B&M kit except it was nearly impossible for me to find the proper clamshell for the TA mount that the kit requires (GM no longer makes the part...) I had to buy the similar one (its in the instructions) and then had to take the bushing off my old one and cut it on the back/bottom to fit.

my torque arm bushing and clamshell bolted right up from a 1985 torque arm mount. I know there was 3 different styles of torque arm mounting brackets, must have been fun locating the right one.

hi buddy
i would think twice about a th350 if you want to go that route look in the th400 its alot tougher than the 350 even with all the build ups for it i have a 383 pushing about 550hp and it tore up my th350 i have a 700r4 after $600 dollars worth of upgrades im hoping will live up to this thing if it doesnt than i have a 4speed t-22 rock crusher that im going to put in it if i can ever figure out how to put pictures on here id show you pieces of 3rd gear sitting in my pan hey who knows it just could have been weak but why take the chance just something to think about
Dana from Probuilt is going to hook me up with one of his transgo kits. Im going with the Red eagle alto clutches, kevlar band, and kolene steels. Its rated for 550hp or better.
Right now if just have too much space between 1st and 2nd with the 700r4. Im also having 2-3 shift flare up at wot. The trans works fine with regular driving. It will also shave a little weight off and be cheaper to build. Besides, not to many th400's floating around in my area.
only need one of the brackets they send in the kit- for the 200C to th350 swap anyways-
but the swap from 700r4 needs both the B&M brackets,
i have this th350 deal in my 82 trans am,
it was a thm200 originally
works awesome
very good deal
