tv cable adjustment, i go back all the clicks at 1/2-3/4 throttle
I meant to say, i go past all of the clicks...
The setup i'm running is a 93 LT1 throttle body, 93 tv bracket, 93 tv cable, 700r4 transmission, 95 LT1 engine. 2nd test drive after engine swap, new transmission.
When i try to adjust the cable it will go past all the clicks before i hit WOT, like about 1/2 throttle. I just noticed this after a crappy test drive. The car wasn't shifting right or something.
I might have an idea why its doing this. Is there a certain way to route the tv cable? Or it there a place to bolt down this cable? I just have it connected on the other end and inbetween those two its just kind of freely there. Any other help?

Ummm, from what I can tell from your post, it sounds like you have it hooked up on the throttle end, but you might want to make sure it's hooked up and bolted down where it goes into the transmission?

Here's kind of what i'm getting at. Dont know is this is causing my problem. In this diagram, it show there being a place to clamp down the cable on the tranny. But i have the bends in my cable about the same way.
Yeah, that's interesting. Maybe that could be the problem. I know that our stock tv cables don't have any place that they're bolted down like that. From what you said, it appears that you're using the tv cable from the LT1 setup. Maybe you oughta try using the 85-92 TPI tv cable. It's probably a little shorter. That's the only reason I could figure they bolted it down on the LT1's is to take up the slack in the cable. Good luck!
Using the factory style tv cables is usually the best way to go, but since you sorta have an aborigine on your hands there, you can always pick up a universal adjustable tv cable. Most of the big auto parts chains carry them, and this might be the best way to go in your situation. I guess give that a shot if all else fails to work. I just went to Parts America and looked up the universal cable. It's manufactured by Pioneer Products, and here's the part# CA-1980.

According to the Haynes manual you slide the cable all the way in the bracket until it stops aganst the hsg. Then you open the throttle all the way by hand to reset the cable.I just had to do this with my '83.But like Pat Hall stated since you have a hybrid you might see if the later TV cable has a different adjustment.

while adjusting the tv cable, its starts clicking almost right away. I'm going to check it out today on the tranny end. I'm hoping maybe its just hooked up wrong somehow on that end.
Is that o-ring seal in the diagram important? I dont think i have one.
Another solution i heard of is the governor might have to be swapped with one from a 93 700r4. What do you guys think of that?
Another thing is since this is a newly rebuilt tranny is the possiblility of a stuck throttle valve, how would i fix that?
The car kind of shifts through the gears, but if i stomp on it a little bit, it makes a bad noise.
Ya know, I've never been able to adjust it properly trying to follow the instructions in the shop manuals anyways. I just adjust it a click at a time and keep taking it for test drives until it shifts right!

BTW, that o-ring is important I didnt look when installing mine, filled her up with dexron, turned it off, went outside 45 minutes later... yea, that was a mess.
