I need a new differential rubber cover plug for my 9-bolt rear end. The local GM parts guy says the part number is 10041025, and it's discontinued. Does anyone know where I can find one, as gmpartsdirect.com doesn't carry it.
Well, the search is off. I decided that since I'm not getting anywhere I'm going to buy the TA Performance 9-bolt cover. At least it has a screw-type filler plug and not a rubber one.
You could always just go to the parts store and buy a transmission pan drain plug from in the Help! section. No point in outsmarting yourself, or doing some kind of extra work or something drastic like that.

The simplest explanation that fits all the facts is probably the right one.
the number he looked up is right next to the number you needed in the picture. the number he gave you is for the cover bolts. i'll have to look up the gasket number in the morning as i just left work a little while ago.
