It *can* work, with the use of a bellhousing adapter. But you can probably pick up a used V8 700R4 for the price of the adapter.

here's what you need.

a v8 bellhousing

v8 flywheel to match your year of engine

v8 clutch pressure plate

v6 clutch disk

there is a company who makes a kit for the v6 5 speed transmissions but uses a v8 clutch. i can special order them (4 day ups turnaround) through the store that i work at.

pm me, and i can tell you more about it.
