What do you guys think of this hurst. I did a seach but could only find stuff on the dual-gate. This is the V-Matic, the hurst say its shift mechanism is both "gate" and "racheted"
this ones says it shift mechanism is "ractheted"
I'm going to be putting a this shifter in my newly aquired 88 IROC and had a question. I want a shifter you can manual put in 1st gear and as you accelerate just slap it foward into 2nd and then once RPMs are reached slap it again into 3rd. Of course this shifter has to keep itself from going all the way into third on the firdt slap. I've never owned an auto before so this is all new to me. I do know Mopar made a slap stick auto for there 727torque flight which I thing did what I was describing. Any ideas?
Hey i was curious too once i saw the picture of the hurst. Its about the same price as the B&M but its not meant for our cars. I went to summitracing.com and it said it was for 73-81 firbirds and camaros..not thirdgens. If it was i would seriously think about it. Im thinking its the B&M for me.
Slap shifter is pretty nice... we just put one on my cousins car hooked up to a Ford C6/390ci and it feels really cool. I've played with it a bit and I like it, but I haven't used it in a race or anything. Seems like it would work well in competition though.
