leaky trans selector shaft seal

My selector shaft seal on my TH350 is leaking. Anyone know how you replace it and who sells that particular seal? Any local parts place, ie autozone, pep boys, etc did not carry the part. What all is involved in replacing it and can it be replaced with the trans in the car still, leaks a puddle of fluid a week sitting in the garage and this winter I'd like to fix it.

I've done it on a 4L60E. Got the seal from GM at the local dealer parts counter. Cost $6.50. Drain fluid, drop pan, take off spring with roller. Disconnect shift cable and remove lever arm on shaft. There is a spring clip on the shaft inside the case that must be removed. The most important step in all this is to take a small fine file and deburr the shaft before pulling it out of the case. It must slide out easily. Remove old seal and replace with new seal. Grease seal and shaft and put it back together. Not too bad a job.
Enjoy!!

Ditto Once the pan was off, it was about a 5 minute job.

yeah, it is a fairly straight forward removal/replace/re-install procedure. any transmission shop can get you the seal or contact a transmission parts place.
