700R4 vs 4L60E tailshafts and VSS

I have a 94 4L60E with no tailshaft and need to use a 4thgen vss with my computer. Can you put on a 700R4 tailshaft and a 4L60E vss inside where the 700's vss would be?

the 4l60e vss for '94 should be the 2" diameter one. if it is, then yes, you can use the one from a 700 since they are the same. i tihnk the 4l60e didn't start using the 1" sensor till '95 or '96.

an '02 uses the 1" speed sensor so i'm not sure. are you sure the '02 ecm will properly control the '94 tranny? around '96 or so they went to pulse width modulation on the 4l60e. the '94 didn't have that. also in '96 or '97(i don't remember which) they went from a 4 bolt tail housing to a 6 bolt tail housing. if you have to use the 1" sensor, they only made a housing for 2 years that will fit your current tranny.
