t5 to th350 swap

I've seen a lot of 700r4 to th350 threads, but not finding the info i need to swap a th350 into a t5 car.

I have a v6/t5 to 350/th350 project and have a few questions. What tail housing length should i be looking for and what vehicle would they be coming out of? Will my stock driveshaft fit? Will the torque arm fit? Just the basic questions...

Re: t5 to th350 swap

From what ive read, the T-5 and 700R4 are readily swapable, if you have all the manual tranny related parts. But u shouldnt need to move the crossmember. The TH350 would sit closer to the front of the car as far as mounting is concerned. You will need either a longer driveshaft, or a long tailshaft 350. Also you will need a kit to mount the torque arm. FOr the crossmember, i believe UMI sells a universal crossmember, that bolts to stock location plus 2 more bolts, and has all the necessary bolts so you never have to drop the crossmember again regardless of transmission.

Finally i think u'll need a detent cable mounting on the engine. Its not hard, been done before, im sure someone will chime in.

Re: t5 to th350 swap

If a 700R4 is the same length as a T5 then a TH350 with the 9" tailshaft should fit and use your existing driveshaft. You can get the torque arm mount for the TH350 from either Hurst or B&M.

Yes we do, our transmission crossmember will work with the T5, 700R4 and TH350 so if you stick with those transmissions you can use it for all three.

Hope that helps!

Re: t5 to th350 swap

i believe this might be what your looking for http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/in...OD&ProdID=1929 it seems spohn makes driveshafts for any tranny for the f-body's, takes the headaches away, but with the cost of some of that green paper stuff that people carry in there wallets and pockets though.
Edit: you can take a th350 with a short tail shaft and it would fit right in there in place of the t-5 perfectly, but as you guys said before, you would still need the torque arm bracket, but for the driveshaft, use a short tail 350 turbo and your good to go!! and depending on the type of x-member you have, you could possibly use it aswell, but like in my case i couldnt, i have one of those kinds that are garbage, not even good with the tranny it came bolted to when it rolled off the aseembly line lol
