82Z posi in a 91RS?

okay, so i scored a heck of a deal of an axle, some may have seen previous posts about it. it's a 3.23 posi out of an 82 Z28 with drums, and it will be taking place of my open 2.73 with drums. everything i've looked at so far on the axle during disassembly has been in immaculate condition. car the axle came out of had MAYBE 30K miles, but it did sit for quite some time (about 20 years!). so i am going to replace all the seals and bearings, but what i am curious about is one, will my parking brake cable slip in place on the new axle, and two, will the driveshaft be usable? i don't know if there is a spline difference for that, or if perhaps i'll have to split the u-joint and connect it to the other pinion yoke. i am planning on purchasing all new brake components, hardware, wheel cylinders, and the likes. or is there a way to swap it out with disk brake parts for about the same cost? i am looking at a SERIOUS budget, so i can't just go out and buy a rear disk brake conversion kit for several hundred bucks. so, is there anything else i have missed i should pay attention to? i know the axle spline count is different, but the axle shafts are in tact and appear in great shape. anything else i'm missing?
