700R4 OUTPUT SHAFT SWAP

Is this hard to do? Does the whole trans need taken apart? I have a 4x4 truck and want to put a car tranny in it.

Re: 700R4 OUTPUT SHAFT SWAP

You must disassemble almost the entire trans.
1) remove pan, lock up converter and filter
2) remove tailhousing and governor
3) Remove servo
4)Remove pump with proper puller
5) Remove reverse input drum and input drum as a unit, carefully wiggling it past the band
6) Remove forward planetary sun gear
7) Remove snap ring for output shaft and remove shaft.
8) Reverse for install
