RTV, line pressure and shift kits...

Here is the issue I am dealing with. I have adjusted my RTV cable so that is it all the way out at WOT. Car shifts correctly at part throttle and WOT. Here is the minor snag....the trans in the car hits real hard when the fluid is cold and the cable is at the proper adjustment. I mean real hard!! After the trans warms up, it is fine. If I adjust the RTV cable to not come out 100% at WOT, the shifts come in earlier and do not hit as hard. Problem is, if it is not out far enough, it wont shift right at WOT. This is a delicate balance. My question is.....Is it ok to adjust the cable slightly so it is out maybe 95% of it's travel at WOT? Can this small difference in line pressure cause trans problems?

RTV = tv cable. Sorry, was thinking something else when typing.

Re: RTV, line pressure and shift kits...

What has been done to the transmission to cause it to shift this hard at light throttle openings?
