Hello! I've been away from the board for a long time, and my Z has been under a cover patiently waiting on me to get started again. My Vette motor, and T56 are close to going back in, and my first question is what is the best fluid to run in a t56? It's good to be back!

Quickly becoming the next age old debate. You will get a different opinion from anyone you talk to with a T56. I myself have been running standard Dexron 3 Mercon (sp?). For more info try the Manual Transmission over at www.LS1TECH.com Many threads about this very inquiry. Best advice I can give on this one
Thanks for the link! The Camaro has been "resting" for almost a year, and I have lost track of the different boards. Good info there. Looks like good quality standard Mercron III is OK. Just didn't want to make a stupid mistake I didn't worry too much with the old stock 5.0, but the new motor should be a little more stout.
i got mobile one synthetic dexron/mercron in mine. runs smooth and shift fine. any good fluid will work, like red line, royal purple (available at oreilly auto parts), mobile one, shell synthetic ect.
