| T-56 clutch install problems I changed the clutch for my 91 w/ a T-56. Now the clutch doesn't disengage.
A couple of things were done. The flywheel (SPEC billet steel) was turned .008", changed the flywheel bolts to a Mr. Gasket set (from local shop, I think it's 912), and I torqued the pressure plate to 15 ft/lbs w/ another 30 degrees.
A question I have regarding the pressure plate torquing methods. I did it in a star pattern and I kept repeating the tightening until no bolts turned when 15 ft/lbs was applied. In other words, I torqued in a star, a little bit at a time, when the click from the wrench came, I moved to the next bolt and kept going that way until I saw no visible movement of the bolt when the click happens. Is this proper? Or should I have stopped after each bolt clicked once, even though the other bolts appear to loosen up?
Another question is if the SPEC flywheel can be turned 0.008"?
Thanks. | | |
