The 200 is not the same as the 200r4. a turbo 200 is a turbo 350 with less of a load rating. they were put behing v-6's and such. A 200r4 is a complete other beast entirely. You won't need an adaptor to put one behind an lsx engine, so no issue there. If you take care of it, with a 7 vane pump installed a 200r4 will survive behind a 5.3 no problems what-so-ever.

Cheers!!!

Be careful...

Lots of 2004R transmissions did come with the multi-bolt pattern to fit Buicks, Olds, Pontiacs, and Chevy. However, many did not. I have had more than a few that were B-O-P only. Be sure you know what you have before you try to put it together!

a th250 is the light duty version of the th350. the th200 is the non-overdrive version of the 200r4. the 7-vane rotor is the stock rotor for the 200r4. the 10 vane rotor is an upgrade. the 200r4 isn't very strong in stock form and can be quite expensive to make it hold power.

also kinda curious as to why you would want to put one in a 2004 silverado?

Re: 200r4 behine a 5.3L silverado engine

I'm putting it behind the 5.3L because first it was converted to a carburator with the msd box. The T56 it would get a little expensive with a new clutch flywheel and clutch piston since my car is a autmatic. So i wanted to stay automatic and i wanted to stay away from the electronic shift transmission (less wires as possible). I was told 7004r/4L60 are very week. I was told my best bet was a 200r4 out of a grand national. Also i really do want overdrive.

I found a 200r4 that the shop ( Gbodyparts.com ) says its guaranteed to run 11s for $1400 + lets say 400 - 500 custom torque converter = ~2000. I called autozone they said they have a rebuild one for 700 + 300 core charge = 1000, or they had a heavy duty version for 1000 + 300 core charge 1300. So what do you guys say. The engine specs are 5.3L stock internals carburetor w/T76 turbo maximum 8 lb of boost. No idea how much horsepower that would produce. I'll find out when i complete the car. So anyway what do you guys think?

find a local transmission rebuilder and go from there. I would not buy either of those transmissions. Buy locally and save yourself from doing it twice. Marketing sells transmissions for alot of companies. Talk to some people at your local dragstrip they will guide you in the right direction.

Re: 200r4 behine a 5.3L silverado engine

ok local junkyard and local shop it is. picked one up for $250 here is some pics

and this is the car all this is going to

Now what parts do i need to get for the trannsmission so it will support close to 500 hp. The engine is going to be carburetor with a single turbo.
And what stall convertor so it will still be for street use? i'm thinking 3200
lock up anything more than that is going to be too expensive
