rear end howl

so i rebuilt my rear end not too long ago used richmond gears and auburn diff...well out of no where my rear is starting to howl extra loud. Not a sharp grinding noice but a deep howl. It does this when i accel and is loudest between about 20-60 mph any ideas?

Re: rear end howl

I have that same set up on my car with the addition of moser axles. When I first put it in it had a funny howl to it. It got much quiter as it broke in. It could also be a spaceing issue in the rearend if it continues to get louder... I hope this helps. The guy who built my rear end told me to make sure that I used a limted slip additive to my rear diff fluid because he said this would also prevent it from makeing noise ... I hope this helps

Re: rear end howl

Mine howls after a recent rebuild on my stock GM 3.45 gear with aluminum girdle. Hope it gets quiet when it's broke in. Installer said no guarantees.
