Just like third gens, any of them could have had a posi however most lockers will be a gov loc. The only way to find out is to spin the wheels if the cars are supported, checking for a G80 RPO code or pulling rear covers. When spinning wheels, if one goes forward and the other backward, it's not a posi.

just avoid the LS1 (more power and abuse) and not all 80's were 7.5, the Grand National and 442 have a different rear even though it's a ten bolt (still grab it though whole thing is worth 1K)

Huh? I would much rather have a LS1 rear that can be 6-10 years old with a zexel carrier and 28 spline axles and 12 inch disks with aluminum calipers. than a 30 year old G-body rear.
