I have a 91 Camaro 305 TBI and i am currently working with my dad on the transmission rebuilt. Now he has a friend that gets us Amsoil products cheap. I looked it up on their search engine here http://www.amsoil.com/scripts/runisa...msoiloaf:index
And it gave me
Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF)
Torque-Drive™ Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATD)
if the tranny's all new/ rebuilt you can use dexron VI or the good old dexron III. i did some research and found that guys who used full synthetic trans fluid in the older trannys had more slippage then with the dexron III. if it was me i'd use a good dexron III.
LG4 305ci 4bbl motor, 2.5" Cherry Bomb Extreme muffler- side exit exhaust, Cragar 15x7 Black D Window wheels (4" backspacing), Cooper Cobra Radial GT tires (P235/60R15), 36mm hollow front sway bar with wonder bar, 24mm rear sway bar, Energy Suspension endlinks and Guldstrand bushings, Edelbrock Elite 4222 air cleaner with K&N filter, FF Dynamics 16" Cyclone electric fan, Flex-a-lite Variable Speed Fan Controller, custom fixed headlight conversion with 5000K HIDs and Silverstar Ultra H7 bulbs, Pilot PL-362W driving lights with Hella 100W H3 bulbs, Deka Intimidator 9A78DT AGM battery
Either will work but the Torque Drive is designed for heavy duty use. It would be overkill in a street driven car. If you can get it for next to nothing then it would be worth using. If not then just use regular Dexron III.

Either of those fluids will be overkill. If you really want a synthetic fluid, use some Mobil 1 or Royal Purple ATF. Or even Dexron VI.
See, the thing is you are only using it for gear lube in a manual tranny. You are not using it in an automatic car. The only reason they used ATF over any other gear type oil, is because of the synchros I think.
I wonder if regular manual tranny gear oil would work in a WC trany, if you put "posi additive" in it? Maybe, maybe not??

Amsoil is the best synthetic oil on the market, and has been for many years. The fluid you mention (ADT) is similar to what I use (Lubrication engineers Monolec 7500) in very high horsepower and torque situations. I would use it, as it will hold up better in the long run, especially if you are hard on the transmission. Only side effect I've heard, is when really cold out it might shift a little late till it warms up.
