I have a couple of questions regarding installing the trans-go kit in a 700r4. It says that it can be done with the trans in the vehicle, is that true? What all need to come apart, is it as simple as removing the valve body and doing the modifications or is there more dissassembly required? Thanks!
Pull the pan down, pull the valve body out and place it on a workbench....... Everthing is done on the valvebody with the exceptions of some heavy springs that you replace as you put the valve body back in.......
Mine only took like 2 months to put in ......heheheh I could only work on it 30 minutes at a time, every week or so due to work and family..... But it should take less than a day to do if your confident. By the way get a tranny rebuild book to make yourself knowledgeable about what parts are called what...... it helped me out....
I was very unsure about what I was doing, but the instuctions are laid out very well and I called up Dana @ Pro-built Automatics (that's where I bought it from) a couple of times just to make sure I was doin it right .......

take LOTS AND LOTS of pictures (or draw a DETAILED schematic of each stage) trust me youll end up referring to them.
have a little dish to put check balls in (theyre easy 2 lose)... i think i remember one being a different size so make sure you know where that 1 goes.
have fun getting that servo on the side in, i had 2 bend my trans tunnel a little with a port-a-power to get it all the way out.
just go really slow and use the video as a reference! use the actual directions for details and dont put in as much fluid as they say in the video cause its too much. check ur owners manual so u dont overfill it like i did
lastly make sure everything is super clean and dry b4 u put it in, check the tv valve and make sure its being depressed all the way, and use all 3 washers for the shift firmness part (fun factor + ) and you should get it done in a day and a half.
