700R4 Speedometer drive gear problems!
I changed my 86 Iroc-Z dash to a Dakota Digital. It's great.
But my problem lays with the tranny. I was installing the VSS supplied with new dash and I broke the Speedometer gear housing.
I got a new speedometer gear housing and installed it but the speedometer driven gear won't sit right in the housing and connect with internal gear (it freely spins). When I redo it seems to be sitting right until I apply the retaining clip which just pulls the housing into correct position which causes the driven gear to spin.
What am I doing wrong?
