Clutch slave Cylinder broke, replaced it, but still no go.
My slave cylinder broke friday night, had the car towed home, brother replaced the slave with a new one, filled up resevoir with fluid, but the clutch pedal doesn't have any resistance.
going to replace the master cylinder tomorrow, hopefully this fixes the problem.
Anyone have any advice for me?
It's so depressing seeing your baby getting towed and sitting on jack stands in the garage totally immobile.

I had the same problem with mine when I installed my new motor this summer. Turned out that I don't realize there was a large rubber gasket(?) that went down inside the little white plastic master cylider. Removed that, filled it with fluid, replaced the gasket and cap. and went from there. Had to add fluid a couple of times and I was good to go.
Time spent dinkin' with it before I figure that out was about 40 minutes. Time spent afterwards, about 5.

I don't really want to spend $80 more for a new Master clyinder if I don't have to.
My brother just took the old one off and put the new one on.
Funny thing was, I bought a new master cylinder and was about to install it, went under the dash to see what was involved, started to remove the master cylinder, took off the two bolts and was wondering how in the hell was I going to get to the bolts for the brake booster. As I was pushing the clutch pedal down to get some clearance for my head, I felt a little resistance and then I hear a pop sound. The clutch was working and the pop sound I heard was one of the retaining straps on the slave cylinder breaking. I put the bolts back on the master cylinder and my brother re-attached the new slave cylinder( he had it connected but not bolted to the car since he already put it on and took it off 3 times).
Clutch has worked fine since sunday night.
Just having problems starting the car in this cold weather.
