Need help identifying transmission

I got a transmission to replace my t5. I think it came out of a '94 V6. I've read that some '90s V6 T5s have weaker transmissions and I just want to know if I'm wasting my time putting it into my '84. I can't find any info on it. Here are the numbers off the case as the tag is illegible:

Gear Housing Numbers: 13-52-065-922

Tail Shaft Housing Numbers: 13-52-066-936

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Re: Need help identifying transmission

Was your original tranny behind a v8? If so, it will be better to rebuild it than to put in the v6 tranny, regardless of the WC designation. All v6 trannys are only rated up to about 170 horses. Your profile says you've got a 350 in there, and the weakest 350s should be topping out well above what your tranny will take. I've done it with an original v8 tranny and still shot the thing on a tired old motor. If you really wanna know, Tony down at Astro Performance is THE t5 guy, even according to Tremec.

Re: Need help identifying transmission

The V6 isn't going to fit a V8 (different spline count) without some tinkering and then it'll be weak even behind a 305, much less a 350.

Hi,

13-52-066-936 R3

is the same number I have on my Tail Shaft Housing. Mine is out of a 90ī305.

Can somebody tell me if this is a Worldclass and which gears it has?

Thanks Rob

The T5 sticky at the top of the page doesn't list 1352066--that I saw. If the trans is truly from a 90 V8, it would be a WC.

Tail shaft. Remove the VSS or cable and sleeve. That'll show you the driven gear and if you look into the 'hole,' you'll see the drive gear.
