elec speedo & T56

I found this here http://www.skulte.com/T56.html

"The two areas that will be a little messy are fabricating a transmission crossmember, and using the electronic speed signal. If you have a 90+ Camaro or an 87+ Firebird you already have an electronically driven speedometer."

I posted before asking when electronically driven speedos came out instead of cable driven. I got the reply of '90, so what is right? Could it be cable or electric , was it an option?

Is a 4th gen driveshaft the same length as a 700R4/T-5 third gen driveshaft?

Oh one more thing, of someone wants to swap to a T56 why can't they use the crossmember off of a 4thgen donor car?

The article is correct. Electronic speedos came out in all 1990+ cars for Camaros, and all 1987+ cars for Firebirds.

Yes the driveshafts are the same length and are interchangable.

The shape of the 4th gen crossmember is different and wont fit the thirdgen frame.
