I have a 1985 camaro, just regular stock with a v6. I have a 350 out of a 75 blazer for it, and i know that i cant use the stock 5 speed transmission. I want a transmission that will handle the torque of the 350, bolt right in and will be the cheapest and easiest to install, 5 or 6 speed doesnt matter to me. I also would like to put in an e-locker with disc brakes, is that possible?
the cheapest transmission to install is a world class t5 they are rated around 300 ft lbs of torque you just have to be carful with it on anythig larger than a 305 they will grenade fairly easily when driven hard.
t56 u can pick it up at a junkyard from the 4th gen camaros, theyll handle the horsepower and torque way better than the t5, also, is this gonna be just a track car? because a locker on the street is gonna waste tires in days
i dont believe so.....just get a good posi unit and call it done better yet upgrade to a mosier rear end with posi and u have no worries about breaking your rear
