4l60e speed sensor conversion???

can a 4l60e electronic speed sensor be converted to a cable type speed sensor???

Try this link. About 1/3 of the way down. Looks like there is one kit for 93 to 97 700R4/4L60E's, and another one for 98 to 04's. But it's not cheap at all.

thanks for the link. your right its not cheap. any other ideas to get my speedometer working?the 4l60e is in an 89 camaro that originaly had a 700r4 with a cable driven speedometer. is there a stock style electronic speedometer that would work?

Only other thing I know of is the Cable-X box. Look further down on the same page I linked to. But again, not cheap and it's an electronic gizmo instead of a mechanical connection..

It's the same problem with T56's. That's why I figured out how to mod mine for a cable drive.

I machine the tail housing and make a special sleeve for the conversion. It's only for the T56's.

i have access to a machine shop so that is a possibility for me. if i could see a picture or get a few details that would be great. what would i have to do about the output shaft a drive gears for the speedo cable.

This is only for a T56, won't work with a 700R4/4L60E.
