Ok, I decided to finally fit the LT1 flywheel so I could at least start to tune the motor a little bit. I bolted it up and I noticed that with the GMPP mini starter still in place, it was definitely off compared to the original T5 flywheel (the bendix would shoot out and hit the back of the flywheel and not engage the teeth at all). I didn't really think it through, but I seen that there were two sets of holes on the starter I could use to mount. So I tried the other set of holes, seen that it wouldn't fit, and ground down a little bit off of it. Reinstalled it, it was way off, to the point where it wouldn't engage at all. If left in the original spot, it appears that I would have to shim the startrd down nearly 1/2" just to get it to engage the teeth. Anyone with any experience on this, please chime in! I bought this starter a year ago, it's basically brand new, and I would really like to get it to work rather than having to go buy an LT1 starter.
