TV cable replacement questions

1) how is it done? I'm not sure what gets replaced. Does the entire bracket that sits on the side of the plenum, with the adjustment button, get replaced to? Also, how do I get my old cable out of the car? I know how it attaches at the tranny end, but what about at the other end?

2) Carparts.com has a transmission cable called a 'detent' cable. They also have another one called a 'transhift cable with range select'. I assume they are referring to a TV cable when they say detent cable, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know which one it is?

As for #1, yeah, that adjustment button's part of the cable. You could check out http://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/F...ML/000494.html for info about the TV-to-trans hookup.

As for #2, I don't know.. transhift cable sounds like the shifter cable to me... unless "range select" means "TV adjuster button"?
