leaking speedo sender

Car: 88 IROC
Engine: 305 TPI w/ l98 cam
Transmission: T5 5-speed
Axle/Gears: 3.45 posi disc 9 bolt
leaking speedo sender

anyone else have this problem? i am using a t5 with a cable speedometer. i bought the speedo housing new not long ago, now it is leaking where the speedo cable screws into it. i havent got it up on the lift yet, i was just curious if anyone else had this problem and what they did to fix it thanks

Out of where the cable comes out or around the adapter?

If it is around the adapter, just replace the o-ring. I don't remember if it is another o-ring inside along the shaft of the gear.

Yes. Sometimes when the gear shaft is installed, this seal is torn a bit.

it isnt coming out around the adapter, fluid is coming out where the speedo cable screws onto the adapter

Fluid is leaking through and/or around the sleeve and dripping through the connection. Can't imagine where else the fluid would come from.
