hi i have a 86 z28 that was had a 350 when i bought it motor started giving problems so i bought an lt1 droped the motor today but when i go put the flywheel the bolts dont align.. i know for sure my motor is from a 71 corvette or z28 and so is the flywheel... which flywheel could i put on that would bolt on thanks
if the flywheel you have came from the 71 block its for a 2 pc RMS, you need a flywheel for a 1pc rms any camaro flywheel from 1986-92 v8 flywheel should work

Holy hell. Seriously? Obviously neither of these guys reported it. Spectators just reading need to relax.
I *thought* the 2pc RMS motors started in 87 but I definitely could be wrong. Call a parts store and ask if they're different part numbers for an 86/87 t5 flywheel.
If I read correctly you said that you have an LT1 from a 71 Corvette or Z28. That motor would have a 2 piece rms. The original engine in your 86 had a 1 piece. If this is correct you will need to get a flywheel from an 82-85 fbody.
