Has anyone found a replacement TV cable at the parts stores? If so what part # was it? Anyone have a last known good GM part number for a TPI TV cable? How about the overall length of the same cable?
I've tried Autozone, Checker and Napa. None of them list a TV / Kickdown / Detent cable for an 88 Camaro or Firebird with a TPI 350. I've tried years older and newer to no avail. I even had a guy at Autozone try to tell me that my 700R4 has a VACUUM MODULATOR!!!
I've also tried GM parts direct, though their catalog is very counterintuitive. I'll try the dealer tomorrow.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

I don't have part numbers handy, but they're certainly available, either as original GM parts, aftermarket OEM-replacements, adjustable universal-fit ones from B&M and TCI, or more exotic solutions from Bowtie Overdrives or Lokar.
Id say go on ebay and buy one made by teckpak. I was much happier with their design than the design most parts stores carry. it has interlocking teeth to lock in your setting instead of a spring tension clamp like all the other designs.
