Would a 1983 pontiac trans am with a 700R4 transmission have 2 round or 1 round and 1 square shift lock/ignition lock cables

It will only have one lock cable.

If the only reason you're doing this is to get a round style nob, why not just swap the knobs?

no i just want the camaro round shifter assembly, the 82 T/A knob is incompatible with the 83 T/A t handle 700R4 shifter (requires cutting and duct tape) compatible with the 83-86 camaro shifter

It has 1 lock cable and 1 shifter cable. AFAIK there are no differences between years and models in either cable.
