| Re: stall converter lockup The stock setup locks up the converter in 3rd or 4th under cruise conditions. It unlocks when the brakes are applied, it downshifts, or you accelerate. B&M, Painless, and TCI all make kits that control the lockup in 4th gear automatically with no computer required.
