Car: 87 IROC Engine: 383 Transmission: T5WC | throw out beaing noise when clutch is not pushed in Hi everyone,
Having a problem with my clutch. It makes a fairly high pitch squeaking noise when in neutral and no pressure on the clutch pedal. If I depress the pedal slightly, the noise goes away. I have taken the tranny out for a different issue and I noticed that when the clutch pedal is not pushed in, the hydraulics push the throw out bearing against the pressure plate. I assume this is the normal automatic adjustment taking place, but is there a spec for how much it should be pressing? Seems like there is fairly significant pressure there, just wondering if that is normal. The bearing and clutch are both new. I don't want to put everything back together again without getting this fixed.
