THM 700 R4 shifting gears manually

I have a stock 305 TBI TA with a Transmission cooler.

-i drive long distance 60 mph without using overdrive, just in "drive", because the exhaust noise is a lot louder a lot louder then in "drive" at this speeds..

-i also drive 30/40mph in the "2" second gear. faster then 40 mph i shift up in "drive", also because the exhaust noise is a lot louder then in "drive".

all speeds arround 2000-2200rpms.

sometimes i acclerate in first gear from zero, so i shift the gears manually.
i think this is bad for the tranismission?

is this safe with a stock THM700R4?

thanks

It's not bad for the trans. You are wasting fuel driving like that, and I'd like fuel to stay cheap, so we all have to do our part to try and get the best milage in whatever we are driving. On a stock trans there is little if any advantage to shifting manually. With a shift kit you will get a faster shift, even without converting to full manual control.
