manual to auto swap

ok here's the deal:

I recently picked up an '84 Z28. The previous owner was in the middle of a manual to auto swap when I bought it (don't ask why). Because of my budget and the hack job done thus far I am forced to proceed with the swap. Anybody do this before? Any tips and tricks? There are hundreds of threads about auto to manual but none for manual to auto.

So far I have been working backwards from an auto to manual swap how-to but I ran into some problems.

First up is the wiring. I can't seem to find the wires (black and gray) for the gear selection light in the console as well as the 6 pin connector that connects to the shifter assembly. Down by the pedals I can't find any of the wires that connect to the brake pedal (green and brown, purple and pink, blue and orange)

I have an '82 parts car that is an auto from factory to work from.

Thanks for any help.

Re: manual to auto swap

Check out "MY T56 Swap Thread". Its stickied in this forum.

Near the end, ive referenced about 3 other threads for wiring, and i have LOTS of pictures of the wires, and what they do. Maybe a visual will help you out a bit better.
