WHAT TYPE OF REAR END IS STOCK IN A 92 RS WITH A 305?!?!?

I know that there are two stock options....a 7.5 inch...and an 8.5 inch....Want to purchase a posi locker...One wheel peels get laughed at when it comes down to it...plus I want the Launch difference....MMMMM feels nice..

No. Only one option for your 92 and an 8.5 isn't one of them. Check the following link for more info:

Your 92 will be 7-5/8 but it's still called a 7-1/2. It will also have 28 spline axles so you'll need a 7-1/2" posi for 28 spline axles.

The 8.5 corporate rear end was never installed in the 3rd or 4th gen Camaro or Firebird. The only thing close was the Dana 44, which was installed in the SLP cars.

You are going to need to know what gear ratio you have before you order any differential. You will have to get the right series for the gears that you have.

With a 700R4 it is 2-series 2:73 and a waste of money with a new limited slip unless you change gears. Then I hope you have a extra $1000+for parts & labor.
