OKay so I smoked the 4l60e first time i let the thing shift thru boost. So i bought a TH400 with a trans brake and reverse manual valve body.

Can i use a mega shifter on it?

Will it go P R N 1,2,3 So on the shifter when im in OD its 1st, then D is 2nd then 1 will be 3rd?

Re: B&M mega shifter for a rev man TH400?

To switch from a 4 speed to a 3 speed, there should be a stop that can be moved inside the shifter to prevent it from giving you that extra gear position. It will prevent you from damaging the cable, shifter or transmission.

The shifter itself doesn't care if the transmission is a forward or reverse pattern. You should have a decal or plate for the shifter indicator to switch it around.

The reverse pattern will be PRN123

Is the transmission in the car yet? You're going to need a different slip yoke on the driveshaft, different crossmember, a way to mount the torque arm off the transmission and maybe a different length driveshaft.

Its going in next weekend just waiting on the convertor.

I am aware of the swap. I have a BMR extreme torque arm so it mounts to the subframe connectors. The crossmemeber I a building once i have the trans in place. I am gonna have a shop build me a driveshaft once it is in and measured.

I wish i didnt get ride of my 12 bolt cant use this dam trans brake until i get one! unless i wanna go for like a 10bolt 60foot record hahaha

Thanks for the input!

Re: B&M mega shifter for a rev man TH400?

I was running a beefed up 10 bolt. When I put in a transmission with a transbrake, I installed a 9" at the same time. I knew the 10 bolt wouldn't survive behind a transbrake launch. Best guess, you won't get more than 5 launches using the transbrake. If you're lucky, you may get 1. The shock to the driveline will break those tiny teeth off very quickly.
