Ok so i need to know the thread pattern for the T-5 bellhousing to engine bolts. When i just took out the tranny, i found out when me and a co-worker did my clutch last summer he forgot to torque the top 3 bolts down. So I am now short 3 or 4 bolts. If i can find the bolt pattern I can prolly pick some up at Fastenal. I know someone should have the bolt specs laying around. I really appreciate it. Hopefuly My Bird and I will be back on the road soon. -Russ

Bolts are 3/8-16 x 1.5", make sure they are grade 8 and torque down to 45 ft lbs.

Go to your closest parts store, get a basic manual for your car. It will have all the torque specs in it. I would use the specs out of the book over what someone told me on the internet. There are lots of knowledgeable people here, but you still never really know what your getting. Manual is only $10.

Air adam- First off... I already have a manual for my car which i am not close to at the time, or i would "go to the nearest parts store an pick one up".
Second of all I am not going to spend $10 at a parts store, for your info in Anchorage, Alaska they want $26 For either a hayes or chiltons.
Third if you don't trust the info that a LOT of the members here will tell you, you probally shouldn't be on here. I know many members have a book near them, and wouldn't mind giving the specs that i am looking for.
Last but not least if you were a stand up member you would have a manual and wouldn't post non-relevant info, you would take a look and help another member out. With 8,000+ post i figure you have needed a little help or a simple question answered before.

Flywheel to crank 74 ft. lbs, use blue loctite
Pressure plate to flywheel 35 ft. lbs, use blue loctite
Trans to bellhousing 45 ft. lbs.

Woa woa.... slow down. I'm not bashing anyone here. I'm just saying to be careful with info you take off a message board that any Joe can sign up to.

Yes, there are lots of knowledgeable members here who consistently give helpful and correct information to users with questions, but theres always that one guy who doesn't know what he's talking about, or gives bad info to other users, knowingly or not (usually the latter). Can you pick that guy out of a thread with 10 posts? Didn't think so.... neither can I sometimes.

I'm not bashing anyone, calling anyone out, or anything along those lines. I'm just saying to be careful with info you get from the internet. Its your car, your parts, and your money at risk - just be careful, and verify stuff like this with a concrete source, like a printed manual. I take alot of info and recommendations from members here myself, but if its something I can verify it with an established source, like a manual, I will. Most of the time the info is good, but theres the odd time it was bad info.

People on message boards seem too willing to take other people's word for it too often IMO, and a couple hours or a couple days later start a thread along the lines of "how do I remove a broken bolt?" or "where can I get another ____ really quick?" If people verify things like that with a more credible source, you can catch the bad info before its a problem.
