v6 700R4 vs. v8 700R4

is there any difference between the two i need a trans and can get a hold of a v6 700R4 is it the same EXACT transmission i heard it wasn't as strong.

It depnds on what engine you are talking about. The 2.8 will not bolt up and the earlier versions had fewer clutches in them. The 4.3 will bolt up but the bell housing is slightly different so the inspection cover may not bolt up right. It does have the same number of clutches in them. The V-6 trannies are calibrated a little different too since the engines run different and have different power bands.

I've been running a V6 700r4 for quite a while now. Shifts excellent. It does shift too early for my engine so I manual shift when I want to go fast.

350 with stealth intake, holley carb, 470 lift cam. 700r4 with .5 boost valve, vette servo, tci lock-up kit, B&M megashifter. Richmond 3.73 gears, powertrax locker, timkin bearings, synthetic lube. Custom 3 inch single into 2 2.5 pipes. 1 1/2 drop springs, 1 5/16 solid front sway bar, 1 inch rear bar, custom subframe connectors, custom LCA relocation brackets. Kobel ground FX, currant red metallic paint. Lots of other stuff...
