5 Speed conversion

How hard would it be to convert my automatic transmission into a manual? And would the Hurst V-Matic 2 fit my automatic transmission?

http://www.thirdgen.org/manualswap

People are going to be reluctant to answer generic questions that have been covered a million tires.

The search function on this forum works pretty good, but to answer your question the swap was pretty easy for me, 5 hours beginning to end all by my lonesome.

As far as the shifter, I am unfamiliar with it.

Re: 5 Speed conversion

I searched the subject, but obviously used the wrong sequence of words to get what I wanted, however my question is a tad different than the average, I am planning on doing and engine swap to a 350, and my question is, can I just throw any old 4 speed in that came with the 350 or is there only a certain few tranny's that are swappable?

Thanks for your time, DacMan

Re: 5 Speed conversion

Only F-body transmissions will work usually due to shifter location and the torque arm/crossmember mount locations.

Anything can be done... but it gets more complicated if you odnt use F-body specific trannies.
