Which rear end to use???

I currently have access to 3 3rd gen bodies and I was wondering which rear end to use, sorted conflicted after reading...

1. 85 IROC-Z (junk car) with a 9 bolt BW, dont know the ratio but it aint a posi.

2. 83 Camaro (The car which I intend to fix) has a 10 bolt, dont know the ratio but it also is not posi.

3. 85 Trans Am (more junk) unfortunately the only thing I know about this is it has rear discs. It had a 350 (swapped) in it and it might have been the high model as it had the T-shifter but not 100% if that was standard with all models.

I am leaning towards the 10 bolt on the 83 as it is A: on the car I am fixing, and I was gonna take the disc brake parts off the Trans Am and get ed's plates for the conversion from drum.

but...I have seen the 9 bolt is a good diff just hard to find parts.

Hoping someone can help with the decision. I eventually need to ditch the 2 parts cars but i wanna make sure I get the better parts off the other cars before they go...

Also any other parts I should take off the trans am? I have heard the suspension (maybe ws6 dunno never looked) might be good but again first 3rd gen rebuild here so I am learning on the fly.

Re: Which rear end to use???

Welcome to TGO. I'd certainly consider gear ratio before making a decision. Perhaps the following link will help in that, at least where 10-bolts are concerned:

http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/tr...-10-bolts.html (FAQ About 10-Bolts)
