While installing a B&M shift kit in a 84 700r4, the pressure regulator assembly got stuck in the bore just under the snap ring. If i pull the front cover on the pump(behind the TC) can i get it unstuck?
Pressure regulator valve can be removed with a skinny needle nose plier, unless you tapped it in with a hammer or something, in that case you might as well get a new pump. Thats if you are in fact refering to the press reg valve and not the boost valve sleeve. I've never had to remove a pump to get any of these parts out.
The whole assembly is stuck way down in the bore(yes, first the whole assembly got stuck just inside the bore, and while he was trying to tap it to get it dislodged, it got rammed into the bore.) I could not get it out so he just put it all together and is gonna see what happens. I think they are just waising their time. Thanks.
Put the filter back on, put the pan back, now fill it with oil, start it up and put it in reverse. This will blow out the main boost valve & sleeve. Before installing the new oboost valves clean up the area around the snap ring groove. Second, do yourself a favor & get a Trans-Go Shift kit instead of the B&M, thia is a much better kit.
I just asked this same question before doing a search. Putting it in 'verse will blow out the regulator? Since my trans is on a couple of saw hoeses in my garage, anybody know any ways to get it out? Is this sleeve magnetic by any chance?
